Paean to the unsung Soldier

We pray for soldier heroes that have died
Unsung in many a past and present fight,
To unsung heroes- glory unto them!
When entering the New Jerusalem
Those perishing unsung in dark and pain,
Behold! their sacrifice is not in vain,
Alive before the gracious God their souls
and names are listed in the living scrolls..
They have attained the ladders’ highest rung,
Before all others, that were praised and sung,
To those unsung, the fairest cherubs sing,
While litanies and fervent prayers ring.
Ineffably- beyond the human word
Be each of them rewarded by the Lord
For dyeing unknown , but the day will come
When we will know them in the father’s home
Triumphant - shrouded anonymity,-
To be revealed by Him so all can see
Bright shining diadems and victory palm
In God and in His Holy Ones realm.
