Just a baby

Contributed by bhav on Thursday, 3rd June 2004 @ 11:29:21 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

He will tell you to pick him up every now and then,
recently as he has learned to walk he will fall every now and then.

He will open up all the cupboards that are above his waist height,
it’s amazing to see, how to open a cupboard he uses all his might.

Now suddenly he has developed likes and dislikes when it comes to food,
he will eat only what he wants and turn away his face to all other foods.

He loves to go out,
anytime, anywhere he is always set to go out.

He tests your patience to the limits,
if you succeed you win and if you don’t he will slowly cross all your limits.

The moment he smiles everything is forgiven and forgotten,
at times he loves spoon-feeding,
at times only the bottle will do,
everything changes daily but nothing is forgotten.

He is still learning how to talk,
with yells and yips, with his hands, legs and
face he will tell you what he wants,
that’s the way he talks.

At times even three people fall short when it comes to
handling a twelve month old baby,
one does get exhausted at the end of the day,
but tomorrow is a new day,
up he will rise crying and
will come to wake you up and
everything is allowed because he is just a baby.
