there's a light across the way
endless vigilance
keeps me humble
circum-standing,
on this sickle-cell-carousel
you burn my star down
i'm only bent
i'm not broken
you burn my star down
twice as bright
luminous light,
beats and beckons me

I like the way you attacked the sense of failing strength via these lines;
"circum-standing,
on this sickle-cell-carousel"
Very expressive and original.
I like it. |
