Every time I slit my wrists,
The relief is only brief.
With each slit comes more pain-
More frustration, confusion, anger and depression.
I slit my wrists,
Because of this.
Because of the anger, frustration and confusion.
Because of the depression and pain.
But with each slit,
The emotions that caused me to slit,
Are re-awakened and revived.
It’s such a constant vicious cycle.
Pain.
Slit wrists.
More pain.
Slit wrists, again.
And so on,
And so forth.
It’s a battle that just gets worse the more you fight it,
And I never even come close to winning.
***** it! You know what?
I give up.
My life is being screwed over-
Slit by slit.

That's strange... That's not what it's like for me... good poem, by the way. That's what it's like afterwards, I guess. |

I used to be caught in the same vicious cycle. I am now still getting over the addiction of cutting and I hope that you will (or have since it was written 2 yrs ago) get 'over it' as well. Good poem by the way.
