Alone the night can do no more
Unto the rocks the oceans pore
A battered ship sets sail again
The lost, the lonely, no ones friends
Upon the wind sails rip and tear
Upon their chests their hearts are bare
A fire burns but gives no heat
The sea so vill’nt ‘neath their feet
Many’s the time they’ve known no home
Nomads they’ve been cursed too ever roam
In the past’s where they’ve gone wrong
Now lost in daydreams mournful song
Within their lives they've lost so much
Giving their souls to never touch
All the things that they once dreamed
Are lost and eaten by the fiend
Sailors and ghosts their ship twice cursed
Longing for death but facing worst
For wasting tools given by god
Condemns the soul to travel this fog
Mem'ries the truth that shows your hearts
Upon the stage you play your part
Remember this use all the tools
Or be lost upon this ship of fools

Interesting write. I am now familiar with your R&R, which works very well over this metaphor. Well done. |
