I look deep into the mirror,
And see the sadness in my own eyes.
The person staring back at me,
Why do I despise?
Three months clean,
Yet the overwhelming urges still come.
“Breathe through it,
Think of something else”
The scars looking at me,
Are so beautiful.
I don’t need to do it,
But I miss the pain,
The punishment.
The hatred of myself is too much to keep inside.
“Just stay clean for one more day.”
The repeated words are all I have to keep me going.

| Wow. That was an amazing write. It really inspired me. I'm going through the same thing... only a lot less successfully. Oh well, I kinda gave up. Anyway. This was a wonderful poem, and I can totally relate. No one seems to understand... You can pm me if you'd like. |
