The guns to my head again
The blind fold over my eyes
Been in this situation,
many more times than I should
Blinded by an empty hope
Shielded from the piercing truth
Pain!
Un-escapable fate,
has made me a hostage again
Greed!
Promised the amaranth,
but turned to a hostage again
It snuck inside of my room
And burrowed inside my dreams
Darkened the most blissful dream
Turned the roses to demons
Pain!
Un-escapable fate,
has made me a hostage again
Greed!
Promised the amaranth,
but turned to a hostage again
Been turned to a hostage again...

And though we are aware of the likely impossibility, we succumb everytime. Human nature to continue to wait for miracles, I suppose.

Very deep poem I had to read this twice before I grasped the full meaning. I like the idea of hostage something I would never have thought of for a poem. Full marks. |
