Ravenous

Contributed by alecfernadez on Wednesday, 2nd June 2004 @ 03:06:29 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The two children sit at the table
The mothers eyes always observing
Father sits, recites a work fable
All is anaesthetized by his droning
A subtle incomplete smile from lee
His sister nods, its time for supper…

“Oh what a surprise! Oh what a treat!”
Shrieks the ecstatic mother loudly
Quietly the kids look down to their feet
“Look what they made!” she cried so proudly
“A FEAST!” cried Dad, hands in the air
The children anticipate despair…

Plates are protruded from the kitchen
Smiles aplenty, a perfect dinner
Dad stared at the plate, “is it chicken?”
They stare back, neither a sinner
Those innocent faces filled with love
No one could ever suspect; no one…

Suddenly father let out a yell
He chipped his tooth on an old gold ring
“What is this, have you something to tell?”
“We wanted to make your favourite thing”
Shocked dad looked at his plate, a finger
An eye, a toe, the sauce was too red…
Mother stopped eating, she too stares down
“What on earth did you two do” he cried
“What’s wrong dad”, in unison
“Don’t you like grandma?”

That was pretty gross, but funny in a demented way. Very twisted you are!

Dark humour suits you Alec. Highly amusing, yet disturbingly enthralling . . . I like it.
Keep 'em coming.
