Stop pretending

Contributed by carmen_queasy on Wednesday, 2nd June 2004 @ 04:27:36 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

You can take away my time, take it away
You can’t take away the memory
That memory that I know you remember too
Don’t pretend that you don’t have a clue

So here I am, in front of you
Wishing you would try
As I layer on each thick coat, of my pathetically weak disguise

You can take away my clothes, just take it away
Leave me standing naked in your doorway
But I won’t leave, I won’t ever leave
No one ever taught me how to breathe

So here I am, down on my knees
Praying someone will hear me cry
Why is the one person I trusted, the one who told me lies?

You can take away my faith, take it away
But I never needed it before
I stopped believing, your faith is fake
And everything I am is now yours to take

So here I am, down on the floor
Wishing you didn’t lie
Why is it the one person I ran to, the one who made me cry?

You took it all away from me, you took it all away
But I promised you, I promised you I’d tell the truth today
You lied to me; you pretended that you loved me, pure and true
You didn’t need me anymore, but I never stopped needing you

So here I am, I lay here broken
Wishing I could fly
Wondering why the one person I lived for, is leaving me to die

THAT'S A BEAUTIFUL WRITE. ALSO I CAN FEEL THE PAIN AND PLIGHT THAT FORMS THE SOUL OF YOUR POEM. THOUGH I DONT KNOW THE MATTER , BUT I SUGGEST YOU NOT TO LOOSE YOUR FAITH THAT EASILY. THERE MAY BE A GOOD REASON FOR WHICH THE PERSON HAS CHANGED THE WAYS. REMEMBER,EVERY GREAT RELATION HAS TO PASS TESTING TIMES.
