Oculi

Topic: DarkPoetry

open up your eyes
to this crutch i hide behind
dancing in the dark, holding my heart
and i can't sleep tonight

draw your hands from my heart
close your beauty to my eyes
all the life in me, is you
and you're sound asleep tonight

speak up, let go
it's getting colder in your shadow
Love, you must not let me go

slave to the flesh
the vampire inside
never seems to sleep, always fiending
like he's hard and dry

draw your hands from my heart
close your beauty to my eyes
all the life in me, is you
and you're sound asleep tonight

speak up, let go
it's getting colder in your shadow
Love, you must let me go
it's getting colder in your shadow

...far too cold to cry...

Oculi,
resting on the satellite
Oculi,
just tell me goodnight

basking in your light
in an instant, i knew
i was love staring back at you

i am love,
staring back at you

Oculi,
come take me away

The second of your poems I've read and I love this one too. I can just feel the emotion in your words

I'm no expert, but I think this would make a great song lyric. I like the repetition over "colder in your shadow" - it really rolls off the tongue in a different way than I'm used to reading.
Good work.
Keep writing.
