(Time) My Personal War

Contributed by Joker17 on Tuesday, 1st June 2004 @ 08:32:05 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

There’s ten million words that I want to write
And sometimes I don’t care if they rhyme
As long as it just feels good to me
And it’s helping me to pass the (Time).

‘Cause (Time) will be a “cause of death” for me
Each day we don’t share the same home
So I’m sitting here now, all by myself
And I’m missing you, as I write this poem.

I’ve grown strong enough to make it through
And I love you so much, I can wait
It’s just hurts me deep, this being apart
I just want to get our lives straight.

Thank God I am back to working again
That kills at least eight hours a day
Then driving erases, another hour more
Leaves me fifteen, to write and to pray.

I’m hoping that both, will keep my alive
Until we’re back together once more
If I could just sleep for some of that (Time)
Then (Time) wouldn’t be My Personal War.

Do you know how great that first stanza is? Millions of words...thats great and I am so glad you didnt rhyme. The (time) in parenthesis was very original. This poem was clean clear and very memorable.

time is a double edge sword. it can create or destroy.
