The dark make-up means nothing.
The dark clothes mean nothing.
The dark attitude means nothing.
It's only a shield,
A mask.
I'm hiding not only from the world,
But from myself, too.
The dark make-up is symbolism.
It represents my thoughts,
My feelings.
Don't tell me it looks like *****,
You narcissistic prep.
The dark make-up is freedom of expression.
It represents my depression, anger, confusion, and frustration.
An attitude comes with the make-up.
I tuck it away until I need to use it.
It's so stupid that people fear me,
And that I get stereotyped because of my make-up.
"Punk rock goth".
So what if I am?
Does that make me terrible?
I'm different,
I know that,
I accept it.
But no one else seems to.
You people disgust me,
You can't respect differences.
But in a way,
I feel bad for you.
Almost.
"Punk rock goth".
Let's get this clear-
That does no entitle me to smoking, drinking, drugs,
Or anything else you people choose to associate me with.
I guess this "punk rock goth" has a lot more to her than you realize.
