The Milk Man

Contributed by alecfernadez on Tuesday, 1st June 2004 @ 03:30:29 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I see you standing before me, robed in blood
A Crimson gown sheathes your naked body
The sub-zero milk bottle in my hand feels so,
Inadequate to say the least, in your glow
I’m imagining my hands stretched for the goal
You, inside my wretched horrifying dreams

At first you think its all fun and games today
Lying below me, arms erected with passion
The tender kiss onto your succulent lips,
Is all it takes to make you quiver with fright
Your tongue; immovable from my sharp front teeth
That’s right… Your next premonition is for real

Thrown across the mattress your tongue escapes me
My fingers tear at your tender exposed flesh
Capped with nine inch iron nails my fingers work
Your try to scream, try to call for attention
But the only attention you get is me
I see your eyes so bright and alive with fear

There, there, it will all be over very soon
Just as soon as I finish my masterpiece
You choke as you struggle to catch one last breath
Feel me, breathing down your neck, what luxury
The rope gets tighter around your neck. YOU CHOKE
Heart stops. Limbs fall. Dead. This body is now mine…

“Hello sir?” asks the young woman in red gown
The milkman stopped and looked into blue eyes
A smile protrudes at both ends of his small mouth
“Here’s your milk, love” he says without any pause
And with that he left her standing with the milk
His only comfort is; He’ll see her next week
Then maybe
Just maybe
Maybe…

Sick or not, Alec - this is 'kin A-grade material here. I loved the way you got stuck in and bombarded me with jagged, disturbing images, having them gracefully coalesce into the fantasy of the psychopathic milkman . . . I would have chosen a more subtle title, however. I found the initial shock of the first stanza a bit much for the expectancy of 4 pints and a cheery smile - but that's just me.
Great write.

i loved this poem, i don't care what everyone else thinks. you blast us with all these sick, graphic images, take us to the brink of dead then back to the real world. it's like you saw into my mind and how evil we all are inside. very good job, makes me want to write more.
