One Step Too Far

Mark’s son has gone one step too far,
By choosing to vandalise his car,
The back window was smashed with a brick,
They missed the first time and went back for a second hit.
He called the police and his son denied,
Said he was in bed and tucked up inside,
The neighbours witnessed the criminal act taking place,
But as it was dark, nobody could see a clear face.
So nothing can be done because we didn’t see,
So now he’s gotten away with it and walks free,
I don’t think that this will end here,
Mark doesn’t want his so to ever come near.
I wanted to go round and show him my wrath,
But I was stopped by love from walking down that path,
As then it would be me who was in the wrong,
I have to try to keep calm and keep myself strong.
I don’t think that justice will ever be done,
His son and his friends think it’s all a bit of fun,
But it’s no fun for Mark as he has to pay,
And lives with the thought of “what’s going to happen next” every day.
