One friend down

One friend down
Run by herself to the ground
Such a sad story
Is this story I found

She's so confused
Only she is to blame
She wants to be treated right
Although she doesn't treat others the same

On a path to no where
She guides herself
To a path of sorrow
Like the one I once found

I've tried to be
The example she needs
So that she can be
The person that means so much to me

Or maybe the person
That MEANT so much to me

Things may have changed
For me
Not for you

Things may be the same
Inside of you

I think I'm done trying
To help you off the ground
I'm sorry to say
That my friend has gone down

this poem is almost haunting to me Iv been going through the exact same thing with a friend of over 17 years and now I need to let her go. You expressed your feeling so well. Its hard but sometimes the best thing for us at times people we care so greatly about can pull us down with them.
