Angry with God?

ANGRY AT GOD…(©Peter Sprenkeler)
I will never forget…that day that God was unkind,
Burns with intensity…so deep in my mind.
No reason for those events…I could find,
Clenched fists and anger…my teeth did grind.
So much anger and confusion…my back I did turn,
On a supposed loving God…my wrath He did earn.
Took so many years of pain for me to learn,
I had no right at all…of His love to spurn.
I turned away…when I should have held Him dear,
Blind pain and anguish…had filled me with fear.
I wrongly blamed Him…as those flames did sear,
In that inferno my parents died…so did I is now clear.
The Lord was not responsible…yet how I blamed Him so,
In anger I chose all the wrong paths to go.
The seeds of much misery…I did foolishly sow,
Now in shame I confess…and I want Him to know.
I am not sure which tragedy was in fact worse,
Losing my parents…or placing my faith in total reverse.
I know I am tired…of riding the spiritual hearse,
I now understand life…without Him is a curse.
So on my knees to apologise…I know He loves me still,
My embarrassment so deep…my soul feels the chill.
Yet I am the ‘prodigal son’…of my return He does surely thrill,
I am tired of doing mine…I will now do His will.
I have a chance now…since my return from Hell,
It all turned around…when onto my knees I fell.
His forgiveness of me rings out…as clear as a bell,
My fire now for Him...never again to quell.

| even those most faithful people turn their backs at times... i am happy to read that you have are sorry for your mistakes... and im sure that God feels the same and will give you many blessings in return... nice write :) :) :) |
