Given Half A Chance
Why do you look at me, like I’m scum of the earth
When I walk down the street, you take a wide berth
Am I so ghastly, such a hideous sight
Would it be better, if I came out at night
It’s not my fault, I was born this way
Disfigured at birth and being made to pay
Tumours on my head, a hump on my back
You look at me afraid, that I might attack
I’m not vicious, grudges I don’t bare
I have a good heart, feelings, I care
Give me a chance, I’m sure you’d like me
Given half a chance, a good friend I could be
My life won’t be long, but, loneliness kills too
I’m not asking for pity, a simple hello would do
Maybe a natter, my mind is intact
I'm as perfect as you and that's a fact

You prove that you are that by your words.
People who judge a book by its cover miss out on its contents. |

This was a very well written work. Great flow and rhymes made it a pleasure to read. Add a great message and you have a work of art.
Very well done
