Blanket

Topic: SongLyrics

Let me be your blanket
Your security,
I’ll put my arms around you
And cradle you gently.
Let’s live in the past, for just a while more,
You don’t have to outgrow me.

I know, this is oh so hard for you,
You know it feels impossible,
But I want more time.

And I know, that you still love me deep inside,
I can see it in your eyes.
And that’s why you don’t want to give me hope.

But please don’t let that keep you from me,
All I need is some more time.

Let me be your blanket,
Your security,
I’ll put my arms around,
You can count on me.
Let me make it better,
Kiss away all of your pain.
Just a little while longer.

Run with me
We don’t have to face it
Come with me
Far away
Run with me,
For the summer, let me try and bring you joy again.

You’re the last thought before I go to bed and
The first though in the morning
Please, don’t make me let you go.

Let me be your blanket,
Let me wrap you up inside me
I’ll keep you safe,
I’ll try my best.
No false hope, on my part
I can take care of myself,

I know one day, our end will come. But I don’t feel its here today.
Reconsider.

A heart that struggles is a heart that feels. Reaching for what we know is safe, but carfully one should be who reaches for tired support. The poem was kind and hopeful.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
