The Outcast

Contributed by parkman on Saturday, 29th May 2004 @ 12:57:47 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Sitting here rejected, a society outcast
Wil I ever be accepted, how long will this last
It's not that I'm so different, nor am I a freak
It's just that I stay silent, too afraid to speak

I see what goes on around me, everywhere I go
Bottle it up deep inside, waiting for the lid to blow
Brewing dark within my mind, full of pain and torment
When the bubble bursts, my frustration I will vent

When the fuse has blown, when my anger's out
Then society will hear me, they will hear me shout
They'll not know what's hit them, they'll run and hide from me
Unless they get me in a padded cell and throw away the key

Maybe you should speak up and they will listen.Keeping it all bottled up is no good for you or those around you. I hope writing helps with "letting it all out" We here listen, or read. :-)
Angel always...godspeed...joni

A fairly gripping write which imparts the frustration of an outcast rather well I would say. The irony of humanity is that we are all social animals and yet at the same time we are also separate intellects and individuals. Such that we often find this clashing between the many and the personal. The products of this struggle are social outcasts....marooned on a distant plateau being within society and yet apart. Potential timebombs all. Acceptance is oft a double edged blade... to fit in you will have to loose a part of your pecularity and opening up to society does has its inherent risks as well. A difficult choice...to continue being an outcast and in doing so invite doom or to learn to live within society and put down petty angst and being one with the mundane. Oh well just my crazy rants...quite a thought provoking write...a bit tame and could be augmented but nice anyhow.
