Afraid Of The Dark

Monsters and demons skulk in the night,
Just waiting and preparing to give someone a fright,
I pull the covers right up over my head,
As I lay there stiff from fear in my bed.
I close my eyes and wish it was morning,
In the back of my mind I hear my fear calling,
I want have a quick peek but I’m frightened I don’t dare,
In case I do look and a monsters stood there.
A noise makes me jump and my pulse begins to race,
My heads in a whirl, what terrifying sight will I face?,
My hands start to shake as I prepare myself for the worst,
The thud in my chest is so loud, I fear it will burst.
I slowly drop my cover down below my chin,
If I do see anything I’m about ready to jump out of my skin,
Straining my eyes to adjust to the pitch black,
Hoping and praying that nothing’s peering back.
My ears are on alert, but all I hear is silence,
I can not hear anything from the dark tyrants
I just wait, as my fear continues to make it’s mark,
Sitting there frozen and afraid of the dark.

Ahhhhh fear not the dark, fore in the dark across the skies, a nove is born, and such a light within, a new heaven and planets, and sun for all, that's whats in the dark, now sweet dreams to you.
Thanks for sharing this, reminds me of telling my children not to fear the dark.

Wonderful poem Pixie it is worth more but I can only give five for it. I read it twice just to make sure I did not miss anything. Spooks and all frightful things in the dark of the night I know the feeling from when I was a very young boy. Keep smiling.
