"Lifetime Of Dimes"
Remember the day when loyalty cost a dime?
Couldn't buy it with your life savings today
Alley ways and dimly lit halls, make nice friends
Find your way there and you're bound to find more
Clear out the trash and you'll find an old man
He hasn't had a bite since 1974, and doesn't ask much
Flip him a dime and he'll sing you a tune
It won't give you much, but it means the world to him
A stranger just bumped his account to a buck o' three
The cost of loyalty is disguised as a lump sum
But you just brought back the glory days
When you tossed that dime to the guy in filthy clothes
You earned not only his trust, but his loyalty as well
Who said it couldn't be done these days?

Isn't it amazing how little it takes to make someone's day.. |
