Tonight I went out walking
In the rain, amongst the stars
Hidden beneath my overcoat
The fresh, still healing scars
You stopped me in the doorway
To tell me to keep safe
That you couldn't take it if you lost me
And not stay out too late
I hugged you then, and kissed you
And said that I would try
You'll never know how much I love you
You, who caused me not to die.

I think my parents probably saved me more times than I could count with just their love, devotion and belief in me. I wish I had appreciated them more then than I did.
