Life's Tough

It always seems to kick you when you’re down,
Gets to you when there’s no-one else around,
Befriends you one minute and sticks the boot in the next,
It follows, waiting to put a stumble in your step.
Life is like a fair ground and it’s rides,
Fun, games and horrors that hide,
You go round and round and round,
By the time you get off , you’re delusional and hit the ground.
Life will stab you in the back,
Take you to your limits and make you crack,
It hides away behind an array of masks,
Never gives you a straight answer to what you ask.
Tricks you and leads you into a false sense of security,
Hurts you and laughs at you, life takes no pity,
Takes loved one’s away with no explanations,
Steals them from this world and then runs.
Life has all kinds of faces,
Travels at so many different paces,
Leaves you high and dry,
Rips your heart out and makes you cry.
Life leaves a bitter after taste,
Doesn’t just pounce or act in haste,
It waits in the wings and picks the moment well,
The attack is like a snipers and that’s why it hurts like hell.
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get,
Once you’ve taken a bite it’s too hard to forget,
It’s easier to roll over and admit you’ve had enough,
When you feel defeated and life’s getting tough.

Life is tough Pixie but it is also that what you make it. I have always tried to show optimism right through my life and I have been lucky to find that most people like an optimist.

Woah. Wonderful job! I love this poem. Haha, I feel like such a dork because it brought tears to my eyes when I read..
