Cut

Topic: DarkPoetry

I feel you sucking my breath, you demons, as I lay in bed at night.
Are you thinking you’ll make friends with my thighs and breasts?
Or talk me again into laying with that beautiful bright blade of flame?
My sexy, icy scalpel that sculptures skin with such deft hand slices,
Such precise, pretty, surgically applied little points of pain,
That skitter and pop as I feel warm blood soak spread fingers.
Tracing red rose petals on white snowy sheets as I play.
You skilled psycho terrorists! Tonight, let me off light.
Leave me my pulse, you can have the rest.
I promise to not sit in judgement or seek to blame,
Or falsely trick you with sundry devices,
To seal an arbitrary deal, were it not certain you’ll gain
More than you could ever lose. Make sure some part of me lingers,
Some unravaged refuge of tissue we can fight over another day.
