Does it have to be a long walk on the beach?
Or can it be a walk to the park?
Where there was a dog with no bit and all bark
Does it have to be all pefect times?
Or can there be mistakes
From time to time?
Like being late for a movie
Or running a light
It STILL hurts to walk outta sight
I don't know why and I've tried to go
You've done everything and all you know
To get me to realize there's no Love Below
We were lovers at once, and now, nothing more
And though I want to be lovers again
I know this friendship will be tore
And I know THAT, will make me more sore...
Friends... always

I remember the day
I was yours, you were mine
I don't know what to say
Cuz I've drawn the right line
I know you don't like what I say, what I write
Cuz you're looking for love and you thought that we might
But we can't cuz we're friends and that's all that can be
There cannot be an us if there's you and there's me.
We'll always be friends, ya big dork
It's a pretty good poem though.
Love,
Chelsea |
