Goodbye Ignorance

I had seen the stripes on her wrists,
and I didn't understand.
All I could do was take my pen and imitate
and see the patterns on mine,
and I knew.
But I could wash away my scars,
though I'd replace them as soon as they were gone,
while hers don't come off in the wash.
An eskimo kiss for my new friends
who have set up camp in my skin,
and ever so gently,
goodbye Ignorance.

You have a great heart for being a good friend to those in need.
May the love you show to others always come back to you when you are in need. |

This struck a cord in me. My friend was suicidal for a while, and she still bears the scars. I drew a dotted line down my vein, with a little pair of scissors, like the cut here symbol. She didn't like that, though. But we got it straightened out. I like your stuff. |
