Will thou be with me ,
When none is around ?
Will thou be with me ,
When Iam in sadness drowned .
I feel alone ,
Though I have a crowd around.
I can’t hear a word ,
Amidst the din of sounds.
I feel purblind ,
No matter how hard I try,
To see within ,
Within I see a void.
Without I can see no more ,
I now desire just for one thing more.
All my life dear Lord!
Greed took the better of me ,
I sinned , I hurt,
I forgot thee.
I trumpeted my selfish maneuvers ,
Inebriated by the stupor,
I just took you in stride ,
Knowing little how you hate pride.
Your company I forsook ,
Now when Iam lying alone ,
To thee I beg and plead aloud ,
Will thou be with me ,
While I lie in my shroud.
