oops

By and by feverishly I covet her skin
in the quiet places of my mind.
Alas, famine has struck the bed I lie;
this nocturnal hunger remains unsatisfied.
Curled tightly, back to chest...
The constant ebb of our continuous breath
would lead me into a sleep I've not had
since...you left.
Should we meet, a countenance of platonic affection I must display to ensure my heart
protection.
I've mastered the chore of harboring
emotions at bay.
