extend your arms
invite it in
embrace it with all that you are.
secure your grasp
around the blade
just don't take it too far.
cut yourself
nick your skin
and watch the blood drip down
clean it up
and closely examine
the outward scream without sound.
dress the wound
hide the knife
pray that no one knows
roll down your sleeves
hide your mistrust
take care that these scars never show.
don't let them see
the failure you are
trap your feelings within
explain away
the countless hours
that you've spent destroying your skin.

I really liked the title of this poem. How true! So many people are screaming silently. Dark, yet touching poem. Strong!

oh! don't we know these feelings too well! i won't say lots about this because i don't want to remind you of you past times, so i'll just say that "you're never alone" |
