Ode to 'Boogie Nights'

Contributed by brigitte7735 on Tuesday, 25th May 2004 @ 10:22:09 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

We lunge forward into a meaningless kiss
Flesh revealed, immaculate in its perfection
It's the cheapest form of carnal bliss
But the truest form of liberation

Entice the audience and make them long
Seduce them with your perverted fantasies
Help them see there's nothing wrong
With ruthlessly satisfying your needs

You only live once so go to the extreme
It would be a sin to leave something untried
Do everything you could ever dare to dream
Strive to attain the ultimate high

And if you wonder if it was worth the price we paid
Our innocence lost , our families destroyed
Remember with callous hearts they turned us away
So we adopted each other to fill the void

Although some have fallen along the way
And some have lost their creative elation
I honestly believe we're not to blame
For the world has a way of stifling ambition

Treasure these moments when we're all together
Always embrace the ecstasy it brings
How I wish the world would stop here forever
Because this is what happiness means

For a first piece, this was really awesome. I loved the style, and the rhyme flow. It all went together very nice. Great job, and keep them coming.

It's a pretty poem, and I'm glad to see that your rhymes did not distract the reader from the tone and message of the poem.

The film was not the only good thing to come from that movie i see, a beautiful talent did also.

A beautiful structure entwined with amazing techincal brilliance, eveloped upon an extensive vocabulary.

Your words paint a picture of the brightest colours

Luke
