Just A Pun

The reporter came to me
and sat there so patiently
calming words flew from his mouth
answering questions to erase the doubt
so I told him it all
summed up the rise and the fall
insistant and persistant, he jotted away
cool and calm, I spoke all day
we parted with a shake and a good-bye
I walked away and felt so high
the story was printed and to my dismay,
I read a story about nothing I'd say
fooled was I by a printer of lies
so full of hate and bursting with despise
So I took my gun and found the one
who mistaked my life for just a pun

poetry as many see it, is based on rhymes so therefor i do not agree with the first comment, as i myself see the rhyme is essential sometimes for flow. your piece was interesting and well written. |
