Psyche

The lunacy is keeping me together

The blades on the fan are swirling
Way up above my head
The springs below me creak and groan
On this threadbare hospital bed

The doctor comes to see me
Twice everyday
To see if I need anything
Or if I'll ever say

He asks me many questions
But they're all the same to me
I tell him that I'll never tell
So long as he can't see

They all think I'm crazy
They all think I'm not right
But they don't know what haunts my dreams
When I fall asleep at night

Comatose and harmless
Troubled and insane
I've heard them all five times again
The whispers fall like rain

They give me pills, injections
Hoping to find a cure
They've tried so very long its seems
And now they're not so sure

Maybe now they'll leave me
In peace to spend my days
To gossip with the demons
Who haunt my thoughts in plague
