Imaginary Love

Contributed by morelikelyrics on Tuesday, 25th May 2004 @ 05:48:43 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

I was cold, as it was a dreary winter's night,
I wasn't sure where I was, not a sign in sight.
Tired, exhausted from a day's burdensome load,
I drifted across the line, otherside of the road...
And it all came so fast...
Brakes screeching, horns screaming,
Headlights ahead, and ended with a flash...

But next thing I knew...

I'm swiftly upon my feet, dancing while hand in hand,
We spun and moved with her head held next to mine,
Feet walking upon a sunlit beach filled of soft sand,
Gently we drifted into a world of imaginary times.

Still we dance with eyes locked on eyes,
She glitters and glimmers with what gods are made of,
It finally hits me... I've come across my own paradise,
As I slip into a dream of imaginary love.

But then she whispers ever so softly in my ear,
"Call for a kiss at any time, for lovers are so near,
But all love stories come to an end,
And so now it's time for me to disappear."

And with those words, she fades away,
Into a reverbial night, still dancing during day,
Gone without another breath, or a single exchanged goodbye,
I'm no longer in my life, of imaginary...

As I look around to my left and to my right,
I find the crowds staring at me all alone,
Evidently I had been imagining of all that I had come to love,
And I felt like a fool, drunken madness filled with fright...

And as reality captured me in a fearful trance,
I was suddenly lost in a world I did not know...
But hide I did not, for what came across my eye,
And suddenly I felt the need for one last dance.

Wasting no time, I took her by the palm, and mine upon her side...
Oh, how I remember it so well, the feeling quite nice,
And that's the very moment,
My life truly became,
An Imaginary paradise...

Imagination is one of the greatest gift that you have, not everybody has as much as you. A really sweet imaginational poem.
