Tick and Tock!

I have two friends who are called Tick and Tock,
And they live together inside my clock,
They only come out late at night,
Keep me awake and can give me a fright.

Their song is as loud as thunder,
I can here it as I lie awake and wonder,
Wonder if tonight my friends will let me get any sleep,
If they will for tonight from my mind creep.

But as always they show no consideration at all,
Just like last night I can hear their repetitive call,
Try as I might to drown out their words,
My efforts prove hopeless as they can still be heard.

Night after night I ponder how to escape their chorus,
Without letting them know or causing a fuss,
But I’m left clueless as they are always present in my head,
They are all I can hear as I lay in my bed.

Are they really my friend or are they my enemy?
Below is the message that they relentlessly send to me………
We are your friends that live inside your clock,
Otherwise better known as Tick and Tock!
