selfstruggles
|
You toss me aside
Like a piece of trash,
You watch me swerve;
You laugh as I crash.
I'm cheap and worthless,
Mean nothing to you.
One thing's for sure
I'm glad that we're through.
I'll forget about you
But the shame will stay
No matter the force,
It won't go away.
Why did you do
What I thought wasn't you?
And why to me?
What'd I do to you?
I'm bounded, I'm locked
Enraged, enclosed
In a box, a cage
Strangled, morose.
But I have a hope
A God, a friend,
Who will help me through,
And put misery to an end.

The first stanza is so powerful, such simple words but the impact is very real. The last two lines in the first stanza are my favorite, it definetly feels that way when someone hurts you. I also think the fifth stanza is an excellent choice of words to be grouped together. I enjoy the format, I think it brings the message clearly and deeply. Thanks for sharing. |

Let Him take the misery, friend. And lean on me as much as you need. (I'm pretty strong, I should be able to hold you up. Really)

Whoever you've been used by... they aren't worth your stress. Nothing is worth such negativity. You'll be just fine, my dear.
Great poem, once again. Bravo and encore!
Love,

I like this write. I love your style- very eloquent but simply stated. It's nice to know God carries (no pun on your name meant , there, dear) us through, isn't it? He is our Best Friend. |
