Presed Together

Contributed by Vermillion on Tuesday, 25th May 2004 @ 05:40:50 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I gather all the hate filled words that enter my ears
and wod them all up into a big ball of fear
I gather all the depression that resides in my heart
and push it together into a mass eternally dark
I gather the hate that fills my mind
and push it aside in a lie to sit there for all time
I gather the anger in my soul
and roll it into a cage to never be let go

all of these things are pressed together in a dark recess of my spirit
I want to let it go but nobody wants to hear it
so I let it sit there building and building gnawing at my flesh
and I let it grow feeding more hatred to go along with the rest
I don’t know how much more I can hold too much has gone unchecked
the boiling point is reaching critical, its beating my head and chocking my neck

I need to release this mass
let it explode in a giant blast
I need to free my soul
release the madness and let it go

but I let it sit there
growing and growing without a care
hidden in the dark corner of my mind
hidden there...hidden from mankind

no one knows its in me
I look fine from what they see
they don’t know how close they are
so close but always so far

anytime I could snap
from a simple word, from a simple stab in the back
eating me from the inside out
I’m screaming without opening my mouth

I’m drawing close to the deep end
I’m coming close to what is to begin
my reign of terror will never stop
hands of a jaguar, eyes of a hawk

enough rage to end what I suffer
enough hate to take your family and lover
enough madness to kill forever and ever
all of this is inside me....pressed together

Great expression of betrayal and being dumped on. I know the feeling. I really appreciated this poem. It expressed alot of what I feel. You have a talent for putting feelings and emotions into words. Great Write! Welcome to YDPC!

Wow! I felt certain there would be a big POP at the end. Wonderful use of words to express this pent up frustration. Exceptional flow, sounds great read aloud. Thank you for sharing this. Much talent displayed throughout this verse.

splendid (change of words every once in a while...) write. i try my hardest to talk to people who feel like that, i'd gladly listen to someone's vents just so that they can find peace within. most of the time i have the same complaints as them too.
man, i talk too much about myself in these comments -_-
i really like the rythym and everything. you always choose the perfect words, it's so kool.
