It Feels Brand New

For a few moments now I’ve been blessed by the light
Away from the torturous darkness I’ve come.
Cautiously I investigate my new life
Scared to be forced back to my deathly tomb.
My mind and my eyes free to explore the unknown,
To reach out and touch something new.
So much potential with whom ever I want it to grow,
To create something beautiful and true.
I see you not for the first time,
But for the first time with my new free eyes.
I look at you with wonder with my newly freed mind.
I smile, you smile back, hopefully its not filled with lies!
I have a feeling I’ve missed for a while,
Excitement growing inside my heart.
Fluttering inside, like a birthday child.
Between us I see the growing spark.
So let us see where this goes,
This mysterious connection we feel.
We can walk on the beaches while the cool breeze blows,
And maybe finally we will find something real.
