Our War

Contributed by paper-heart-hero on Monday, 24th May 2004 @ 05:29:49 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Sirens and car alarms the sights everywhere we go
Blood shot eyes and broken arms the world’s a beautiful place
A cord for your throat a less than perfect reception
You’re sixteen again and everyone loves your face

Cry yourself to sleep tonight
Make yourself feel alright
Cuz there’s gonna be
Trouble when we wake up, when we wake up

A fire on the fifth floor keeps us from the stars
We can see the bombs in the headlights of cars
Ready to blow, ready to go at anytime
You’re sixteen again and I’ll make you mine

Cry yourself to sleep tonight
Make yourself feel alright
Cuz there’s gonna be
Trouble when we wake up, when we wake up

Grab your wings and halo and head back up
Don’t worry I’ll see you soon enough my love
It won’t take long

They thought they could hurt you and get away
Not if there’s anything I can say, not today
They were wrong

Cuz there’s gonna be
Trouble when we wake up

Masterful song. And the emotion of it does indeed send shivers. Well done!

Again, WOW. Always perfect, always beautiful, always...Wow! This is great James, an exceptional write. I could hear a song play in my head as I read it. You have quite the ability. Thank you for sharing with us.

Lindsey
