Oh you poor, unexpected, misguided one.
You have fallen into my trap,
And my games.
Did you not see the foreshadowing?
You see me as picture-perfect-
An excellent student,
One with many friends,
Successful in all that I do.
You see me as everyone seems to.
But you're all so wrong,
So very wrong.
How can you not know this?
I am so skilled at this game;
Creating a non-chalant sophisticated facade.
But you seem to look right through this.
I can't understand that.
I present to you,
Anything you wish to see.
For I am a talented actress,
In a different respect.
I create illusions,
And many of them.
Do I present to you illusions of innocence?
If only you could know...

This poem is so true. I put on a facade for such a long time. It's amazing how easily people can be fooled. I wish more of us would truly get to know people...for who they truly are, even if they seem to be hiding it. This was so descriptive and well done. Very relateable. Excellent.
