Shoulder To Cry On

Contributed by pixie on Monday, 24th May 2004 @ 11:46:19 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I’m holding two special people up at the moment,
Helping them both to cope with their emotional torment,
One is my mum, the other is Mark,
They are both slipping slowly into the dark.

I won’t let that happen I’m strong enough,
I’m a survivor even when life is extremely tough,
They’ve both said I’m what keeps them going,
Am I saving them without me even knowing?

To keep a smile on their faces means the world to me,.
When they are hurting and cry it hurts me to see,
I manage to make them laugh when they’re feeling suicidal,
They’re not going where I once was, that’s final!

One’s my ever loving precious Mother,
The other is my forever true lover,
If I lost either I’d be devastated,
I’m here to stop them going. That is fated.

My job is to keep them afloat,
Unlike the Titanic I’m no sinking boat,
The sea out there is so rough,
But my love to save them both is enough.

I’ve been though enough to get them through this pain,
I’d give my life to see them happy again,
Mum, Mark just remember I don’t just have one,
But two loving shoulders for you to cry on.
