selfstruggles
|
so I'm rounding out my day
with sloth
destiny
inebriation
just like a firefly
gorged
with the light
no new tales
of craving
from the west
I fear I've been forgotten there
as well
I live in a tidy
capricious world
full of honey-tongued
connotations
no harsh words
or phrases
all who live here with me
are soft
and dewy
great hair
and ever-so-patient
with my neurotic blunders
not like this place
I shudder
at the phone calls
the inquisitory stalls
demands
upon demands
this noxious cycle
of lack
of self-control
oozing
smothering me
the braindead anathema
all I can seem
to offer up
is my wicked ways
the mortal sin
of my body
you can taste
the sex
in my hellos
like all consumers
I revel in the procurement
of my time
my crimes

excellent poem. I love the last verse the best. I am going to have to re-read it to see what it is truly about. Love it+++++ |
