A Man is a Man

Contributed by norm on Monday, 24th May 2004 @ 07:32:31 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Why do women want a man to act less than a man?
and back away from jolly fights and wave a silken fan.
To dance a minuet or two and bow with stately gtace,
Move the pebbles from your path and pat your powdered face.

This is bad but there is worse, a man's supposed to ask,
a pal to help with dirty work and almost every task,
To stand around while buddy does what you can do as well,
But wifey has such little faith it makes you feel like hell.

Now, you're going to Whimple street, it's down near Glenn and First,
You've gone there a thousand times but now here comes the worst,
Wifey sees a sleezy gent and says, "Go ask the route"
I don't care what 'Sleezy' says..I'll never ask the coot.

Emasculation on your mind? Please you, to listen close.
You are just a pain, my dear, and far too far verbose.
Please get off my back or else you're going to lose this man,
I can only act this way 'cause I am just a man.

Some men are so set in their ways
I think they may have seen better days
Why is it we put up with them?
They'd be better if they'd only bend
A little here or maybe there
But we keep them,
because it's our nature to care
about small animals, and big, old bears

In the beginning Adam said to God, "But God this woman that YOU gave to me did eat of that tree!.....Blamed it all on God instead of taking it on chin and admitting his wrong. Now you say you are just this way because you are a man........Excuses, Excuses, Excuses, that's all we ever hear from men......and there you go again!
This is a really good poem Norm. I enjoyed it enormously......even if you are a man!
love
