If You leave

If you leave me, my love, I would, of course, let you go,
But before you do, there is something you should know.
I wouldn’t try to put pressure upon you to stay,
But just listen, my darling, to all I have to say.
If you go away, I won’t ever wash my face,
And there will soon be a terrible mess all over the place.
I’ll forget I ever knew how to tie my shoes,
And just I won’t care what else I might lose.
Words will lose meaning and just wander around.
Letters will flake off and fall to the ground,
Syllables will get jumbled and broken, you know.
And sentences will find they have nowhere to go,
Everything flexible will stubbornly turn brittle,
And elastic forget how to stretch, little by little.
Till every belt and waistband will feel the urge to snap,
And zips and buttons will find some skin to trap.
All upright things will turn upside down,
And colours will all bleed into shades of brown.
Shops will all be like Woolworth’s with nothing to buy,
And vanity itself will become self conscious and shy.
Money will eat for comfort, and get fat and inflated,
While all birthday cards will arrive late and belated.
The economy will get depressed and start crying,
And peacemakers will go out, and start fighting and dying.
Lightning won’t have the energy or nerve to strike,
And love will down grade itself into like.
Hurricanes will puff like a gentle breeze,
And Tsunami’s will hardly lap up to your knees.
Chocolate will taste of greens,
And candy floss look like refried beans.
Volcanoes will hide under the pillow and oversleep,
And laughter will find it can do nothing but weep.
The moon will get cheesed off waxing and waning,
As thunderstorms pass by without even raining.
The sun will lose focus, and turn fuzzy and pale.
And earthquakes will deregister from the Richter Scale.
Thoughts will get mixed up, and muddled and hazy,
And clouds will stand still, looking gloomy and lazy.
Pride will lose its self esteem and fall flat on its bum,
And all intelligent life will suddenly act dumb.
Decisiveness won’t be able to make up its mind,
And insight will look inward and see that it’s blind.
The future will think it’s a thing of the past,
While longevity declares that nothing will last.
All objects will shatter so that nothing’s left whole,
Even politicians will resign and go on the dole.
Fires will turn ashen and coolly refuse to burn,
And history won't tell anyone what we should learn.
Nation’s debts will mount up but not get paid,
Even sex can’t be bothered to go out and get laid.
Finally, all life on earth will decide to stop breathing,
And all because of the news that you’re leaving.

This is amazing... obviously a lot of thought and love put into it. "Great write" doesn't come close to do this poem justice!
Magnificent!
