Pasts are never too far away

Contributed by Mortis-Dark on Sunday, 23rd May 2004 @ 02:06:47 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Today we break yesterdays bread.
In hope for a new mourning.
Light bleeds its gamma onto our skin and we slowly begin to decay.
Sounds of the eerie and the dark unknown play in the foreground.
We shed our skin then we can begin.
What was never suppose to happen.

The flames rise much to our despise.
The wood burnt and red.
These embers of hell I give you.
The smoldering ash displays our past.
The one we made.

Each day is struggle.
Between life and death.
The good kills out all that which is evil.
Only to become evil in its own sense.
The harmony is broken in this last action.
Our cause has trigged some chain reaction.

Miles and miles we ride.
Rising above all with each galloping step.
Racing the wind.
While facing the sun.
Only to notice the past is never to far away.

Well, this is quite a write. Left me with a sense of awe, despair, and sadness. I like the next to last stanza best.

"Pasts come back to haunt
when we dwell too long
on memories that daunt
and bitter emotions strong"

Your poem is very good.
