One Wish

Tears stream down her face,
all the hurtful arguments
ringing in her ears.

She just wants to get away,
end the drama
and find a new place to stay.

They brought it on too much
and the stress is too great
for her to bear.

Why can't it just stop?
Allow her to be happy
for more than a single moment.

The pain, she doesn't deserve,
the sadness, she can't understand-
all she seeks is happiness.

There is a happiness
already within her,
but everyone else destroys it.

Such petty things
are turned around
and made into a crisis.

She hates it,
despises it-
has no desire to be a part of it.

Part of it, she can lose,
the other half,
she's not so sure.

All she has now
is a wish-
a wish for the return of her happiness.

wow this is so sad. what makes it even more sad is that i'm going through this right now. keep them coming......i loved this poem!
