(So autobiographical, I could be liable)
In the Morristown Museum, I gave away my dream.
First time I let someone clip my wings.
Learnt that birds of a feather
Don’t always flock together
When I got my first supply of shiny stones.
My silly response was:
Birds don’t eat rocks!
Well then, my little pretty, I’ll give you a ditty
Let your Rosy Reds nibble on this wee mouse.
Or for you to inherit: my smiling, speedy ferret.
Try finding him like a slipper under the bed!
Between Christina’s eschatology and second-hand geology
I handsomely learned to fade into the shade.
A chromosomal convenience
As opposed to a clear stance
Was to mark me for all the loves of my life.
Meanwhile, back in NJ
My lad was washing his car.
Tiel is a fine colour, but it loses its splendour
When not pampered and polished day after day.
Besides, You I carry, in my modern-day surrey
Finished reading that book my mom gave you?
‘Twas back to the bedroom. The perfect love? Being alone some
To dream and dream till I walked out the door.
I was so like a child,
A fawn in the wild.
Not the goddess or the goose that you stuff.
So, thanks for the letter
Ferrets alone can You tame.
-- --
First principle of psychology: An “other” is “outside of me”.
Let him go, let Me BE. But it happened again.
Only heaven can help me.
But is chastity safety?
Upper Case. lower chase.
This is now where I’m at.

Ohhhhhh Elena - I do like this! I like poems that are autobiographical to the point that it SCREAMS HONESTY to you, but leaves anyone that doesn't know you very well - well, a little like they are guessing at parts. I'm usually not brave enough to go there entirely.... I'm vague where you are specific. I applaud you for having risked liability to share this with us! Kudos! Nice nice write! |

Your writes are fascinating from beginning to end. Your final words here are so true. Be yourself and give that over to God. Amen.

Thoroughly delightful, and intriguing as always.
"A chromosomal convenience
As opposed to a clear stance"
Great stuff.
Keep writing.
