Grief
|
I used to play in the rain;
Dancing throughout the years.
Then the built up flood was released.
Now I realize the rain was tears.
I held them back for far too long,
Pushed them aside with a shrug.
I refused to be helped or comforted,
Poems my only antidrug.
Now I let go of my rock,
As I am swept away by the power.
Drowning even further as I weep,
While I can only review every dark hour.
I used to play in the rain;
Drowning in words unspoken.
Now I can only drift slowly down,
As my body is all that's unbroken.
