Nightmares

Contributed by Huey on Monday, 15th July 2002 @ 09:39:15 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

Last night I dreamt I was lost in a maze of misery,
The day before, I watched souls being burned by a searing inferno
On previous nights, the Nile glowed red with human blood and hatred
Death and destruction reign supreme over my dream world....

Tonight is no different as the moon sank slowly in front of my eyes,
It seemed that the heavens were being torned from the skies,
As if all things sentient were destined to die
Yet one angel used her hope to be able to fly
Silence reigns supreme over my dream world...

It seems like tonight's dream is not a nightmare of despair,
As a light from this angel filled the unholy air,
And lifted the souls of living beings everywhere,
To infuse them with a feeling that everyone must share
Light and hope reign supreme over my dream world...

How could one angel possess the ability to do so?
Her eyes seemed to tell me all I needed to know
My heart was then opened and was rid of all woe
And filled with something new that I was willing, to her, now show
Love reigns supreme over my dream world...

This one being capable of showing such compassion and love,
This bringer of peace, this little white "dove"
This one blessed being sent to me from above
You are the one I am destined to love
You reign supreme over my dream world...
