The life of a doormat, lying at the door
Looking up at the shoes, stamping really sore
Rubbing dirt in it's face, hurting more than it's pride
The doormat will not shout, it's feelings it will hide
It's lay at this door, for many a year
Being kicked on the head, shedding many a tear
Pain it has felt, so much on this step
Being bruised and beaten, a secret well kept
But the doormat will rise, with venom and spit
The shoe that comes down, won't know what's hit it
As the bristles rise, razor sharp by the score
The doormat will stand proud, taking no more
