My love, to a building, no less, I endear
without bounds for the brunt of the sea it must bear
The quest to provide for the Seekers of Light
in the face of Poseidon through the day and the night
Though walls of concrete may welcome the cold
the onslaught of rain and sleet they withhold
So I thank the Lighthouse that sheltered this pawn
for the Wrath of the Ocean is lessened at dawn

I love this poem... I can a feel an underlying theme: man's ability to overcome nature by means of ingenuity and the natural ambitions of the determined. As a person we are inspired by the achievements of our forefathers as they set the stones that would form the foundation we would build upon. |
